Southland Construction, Inc. is a general contractor providing vertical, heavy highway, and utility construction services in Florida since 1977. Southland has employed as many as 205 full time experienced people with a wide variety of talents second to none in the construction industry. We perform services for both public and private clients with projects ranging from $200,000 to $100 million.

 

The Project Engineer will assist senior staff in cost coding, ordering supplies, identifying and managing the personnel assigned to each project and tracking their labor efficiency, assisting in creating and reading job schedules, assisting with change orders and other duties as needed.

 

Project Engineer Job Duties:

• Inspecting construction methods and workmanship to ensure that contractors build roadways, bridges, and related highway structures in accordance with plans and specifications.

• Attending jobsite meetings

• Assisting with other duties as required

• Cost coding

• Ordering supplies

• Change orders

• Other duties as needed

 

Qualifications:

​

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering

• 1-3 years’ experience in highway construction

• A competitive candidate would have a basic understanding of key construction management principles and construction process.

• Ability to work in an office environment and field environment.
