Job Description: Bridge Surveyor

Location: Apopka, FL

 

Southland Construction, Inc. is a general contractor providing vertical, heavy highway, and utility construction services in Florida since 1977. Southland has employed as many as 205 full time experienced people with a wide variety of talents second to none in the construction industry. We perform services for both public and private clients with annual revenues over 60 million dollars.

The Bridge Surveyor will be responsible for the following:

• Running robotics and GPS surveying

• Responsible for the entire life cycle of bridge work and calculations

• Setting piers, walls, indents, pedstro pads, etc. 

• Using a hoist/man-lift

• Using CAD

• Surveying DOT roads, structures, all signage, grid calculations, etc.

 

Required Experience:

• 8-10 years’ experience working with large bridges and new bridges

• 8-10 years’ experience working with old bridges that need extended or restructured

• 5 years’ experience working with CAD, robotics, and GPS surveying

 

Nice to haves:

• Not afraid of heights – qualified candidates will be working at heights up to 60 feet.
